Technically not a fix, but a band aid / work around solution, as you have to do this sh!t each time. High CPU Usage: Ctrl + Alt + Del then task manager, then end the task Service Host: Windows Camera Frame Server when not using your camera obviously. The CPU spikes when it's looking for it, when you start OBS, or when your shut off the camera. Black Borders: In OBS, click on your camera area, so that it's highlighted. Hold down the left Alt key, while left mouse clicking on the red squares on each side, and drag it in, until the black borders are gone. Essentially, it's live cropping. Somehow it took me 10 minutes to explain this. Smh. #OBSStudio #DSLR #HowTo I livestream on Twitch / YouTube and I can be pretty silly. I play an assortment of games, and love chatting. I show you how to change the encoder in OBS to ensure you don't have a CPU problem whilst recording and streaming. Remember that you can change the encoder setting from X264 to NVENC in two different sections on the output page. The one at the top is for streaming, the one below is for recording to your computer. This fix only works for users who own & use an Nvidia graphics card . If I find a fix with AMD cards, I will be sure to post a video on it. If you are tired of OBS using a large chunk of your CPU while streaming or recording then look no further. This fix will drastically drop the load from your CPU while utilizing your GPU as the main encoder.
